Eyval
Creative direction of space and brand collateral for Eyval, a Persian eatery in eclectic Bushwick, New Yok. The visual language balanced minimal typography with illustrated characters inspired by 19th century Qajar portraiture, layered with pop film references, vintage projections and Persian graffiti. The direction explored the collision of cultural references to shape a moody, intimate dining and cocktail bar experience, approaching heritage with playfulness and contemporary tension.
This curation of atmosphere and identity led to the restaurant being recognised by The New York Times as one of New York’s top restaurants for its atmosphere and dining experience multiple years in a row.
This work was created in collaboration with Rozhia Tabnak and typographic artist Korosh Ghazimorad.
