Gilded
Object

A contemporary interpretation of the gilded frame, a device historically associated with value, prestige and the elevation of an image or object. Here, the ornate gold border is reduced to a metallic foil surface, retaining its symbolic association while stripping away its decorative excess. The intricate carvings traditionally found within gilded frames are reinterpreted through the folds, creases and imperfections of the foil, replacing crafted ornamentation with a more transient and unstable surface. The work examines how systems of worth are constructed and communicated, using the frame not as an embellishment, but as a subject in itself. POA

Yves Klein Morning Star
Mixed Media

Rendered in a monochromatic field of Yves Klein blue, the work explores the tension between force and comfort. A three dimensional object associated with brute subject matter is softened through a tactile application, creating a subtle contradiction between aggression and care, hardness and intimacy. POA

Life In PLastic
iPhone series, Print in acrylic frame

This work is an observation of beauty within the everyday, capturing a fleeting encounter between natural form and artificial material. The cherries sit within a disposable plastic bag, yet the synthetic surface begins to mimic the qualities of its contents. Through folds, tension and reflection, the plastic adopts an almost organic presence, taking on the visual language of the natural forms it houses. The work reflects on the subtle relationships that exist between objects in shared space. POA
